Doggie intuition

On our way out for our morning walk this morning (and thank you to my dogs for letting me sleep in until 7:30am...WOOHOO!) we had a cute interaction with one of the other dogs in our building.

We were waiting for the elevator and I heard it go by us, it crossed my mind that the only other person up and out the door so early on a Sunday might be one of the dog owners in our building. We waited patiently and then headed down and out through the basement. The lights to the side door had been triggered to turn on so I figured it was definitely one of the dog owners in the building at that point.

The side door is marked "service entrance" but should say "dog entrance"!!

We step out the door and see Mike and Enzo about 50 steps ahead of us. Enzo stops, perks up, looks back and gallops toward Heidi and Reese to say hello. Licking, jumping and sniffing ensue.

I commented on how well behaved Enzo is because he's walking off-leash along the sidewalk. Mike said that just a moment before he was standing at the end of the sidewalk from our building, refusing to move.

I can't help but wonder if he knew we were coming and was trying to wait for us?

If only dogs could talk!
